Freestyle Disco:
This style of dance originated from the 1970’s made famous by John Travolta and Saturday Night Fever. The style has now been developed over the years into an artistic style of dance involving runs, spins, kicks and leaps as well as many other diverse steps and movements with lots of different arm and hand actions
This style can be danced to slow or fast music and allowing the individual dancer the freedom to express themselves to produce freestyle disco dancing.
You would mostly see this style of dance being performed on stage at a theatre. Also, this dance style attracts dancers who wish to compete at regular freestyle dance competitions. These competitions are held throughout the UK and dancers can perform their routines in either solo, pairs or team categories.
